About Lumi

The sky was exact. So are we.

Lumi began with a simple frustration: astrology apps were either beautiful and vague, or accurate and unreadable. We wanted the moment of your birth — the actual, astronomical sky — rendered precisely, then translated into language worth keeping.

Our story

Built by people who checked the math

Lumi is a small, independent team of engineers, writers, and one professional astrologer who got tired of choosing between rigor and warmth. We launched in 2025 with a single feature: a free natal chart, computed properly, explained kindly.

That's still the heart of the product. Enter your name, birth date, time, and place, and Lumi reconstructs the sky at that exact moment — every planet, every house cusp, every aspect — then writes a reading generated fresh for your chart, never a sign-by-sign template.

Today Lumi also offers daily horoscopes tuned to your placements, a cosmic journal, and premium readings that go deep. But the promise hasn't changed: real astronomy, honest language, and your data treated like it's yours — because it is.

01

What we believe

Real astronomy first

Every chart starts with the Swiss Ephemeris — the same planetary data professional astrologers and observatories rely on — geocoded to your exact birthplace and timezone. The poetry comes second; the math comes first.

Language that sounds like you

Astrology has a jargon problem. Our readings are written from your specific placements in plain, warm, second-person language — like a thoughtful friend who happens to know where Saturn was when you were born.

A mirror, not a verdict

We treat your chart as a vocabulary for self-reflection, not a script for your life. Lumi will never tell you what you must do — only offer a frame for noticing what you already feel.

Your birth data is sacred

Birth details exist in Lumi for exactly one reason: to calculate your chart. They are encrypted, never sold, and never used for advertising. You can export or erase them at any time.

02

How a Lumi reading is made

I

The sky, reconstructed

Your birth moment is geocoded and passed to the Swiss Ephemeris, which returns planetary positions accurate to a fraction of an arc-second.

II

The chart, drawn

Placements, houses, and aspects are rendered into your natal wheel — an interactive map of the sky you were born under.

III

The reading, written

An AI trained on astrological tradition writes from your specific chart — checked against your real placements, never recycled from a template.

A note on belief

You don't have to believe the planets shape your life to find your chart useful. Plenty of our members read Lumi the way they'd read poetry — as a beautiful, structured way of asking better questions about themselves. The astronomy is real either way. What you make of it is yours.
